Watermelon Margaritas

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoon sugar
  • 4 cups red seedless watermelon, cut into 2-inch chunks
  • 2 organic limes, cut in half
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 cup tequila
  • 1/4 cup orange liqueur such as Grand Marnier or triple sec
  • 2 cups ice cubes
  • Organic limes for garnish, cut into wedges
  • Red watermelon balls for garnish

Directions

  1. Place 2 teaspoons sugar in a small dish.
  2. Rub rim of margarita glasses with 1 cut half of lime, and then roll glasses in sugar to coat.
  3. Combine juice of limes, watermelon, 2 tablespoons sugar, tequila and orange-flavored liqueur with ice in a blender; process until smooth.
  4. Fill blender with ice cubes; process until mixture is a slush consistency.
  5. Fill prepared glasses with margaritas.
  6. Garnish each glass with a lime wedge and watermelon balls on a skewer and serve immediately.
