Sara's Gourmet BBQ Sauce

My editor and I are not the biggest fans of sweet sauces. In fact, when the Sara's folks initially offered us samples of their namesake sauce, we politely declined. It was then, a young lady who had seen us pass on the sample, politely yelled to us to come back and try it proclaiming "it's the best BBQ sauce you've ever tried!" As it turns out, it was Sara herself that dared us to try their all natural BBQ sauce sweetened with honey (all natural as well).

We liked it. We liked it a lot. I don't know if it's the best BBQ sauce I've ever had, but it's certainly one of the best BBQ sauces...especially, if you're a fan of sweeter sauces.

The sauce has just a touch of smokiness and you can really taste the honey - and it's that great honey finish that lingers well after the first bite. I even convinced my colleague to sample a bit and she agreed, even though she's even less of a fan of sweet sauces. Yes, it was THAT good. She agreed Sara's was a winner! Great job Sara - great sauce!

Sara's Best BBQ Sauce started in 1984 with the "best" being replace by "gourmet" in 1987. Originally run by Brian Ingber, Sara took over and continued the manufacturing of this well-known BBQ sauce and has also introduced a new line of specialty sauces.
