San Jose, Calif., - May 2010 - In reflection to the growing awareness about the environment in which we live in today, Fireclay Tile continues to increase the sustainable materials and practices in their tile designs. Their Debris Series Recycled Tile now contains over 62% recycled materials, creating one of the most beautiful, environmentally friendly ceramic products on the market. Its unique clay body contains more post-industrial and post-consumer waste than any other tile on the market. The result is a high quality clay body with a warm red-brown hue that is truly beautiful, unique, and sustainable.

Manufactured in Northern California, the Debris Series uses all locally sourced recycled materials and California Clay. The waste glass is made up of baghouse dust collected from local glass recyclers; the granite dust from a neighboring granite quarry, and the spent abrasives from the cleaning of pipes that transport water to the City of San Francisco. All products are manufactured within Fireclay’s day-lit, open air factory, that recycles all possible used materials, including clays, glazes and water.

With over 62% recycled materials in the form of curbside glass water, local Bay Area waste granite dust and used sandblasting abrasives. The result is a terra cotta colored stone body with a warm red-brown hue, combined with a selection of 112 colors and every possible field, trim, and decorative piece, the Debris Series allows for a wide range of applications to complement any design style.

Vitrail Series Handmade Tile is inspired by centuries old European stained glass full of depth and richness. Its high crackle, semitransparent glazes are both beautiful and sustainable. This handmade square-edged tile is available in over 112 unique colors and is produced on a white stoneware clay body.

With its elegant color glazes and wide range of field, trim, and decorative offering, the Vitrail Series adds an artistic accent to any vertical or horizontal surface in both kitchen and bathroom settings.

Claymonde Ceramic Sheets are exquisite thin sheets of ceramic color developed through a proprietary ceramic rolling process that allows the material to be ultra thin yet durable. The tiles are close to perfectly flat (~1/4” thick), while the ceramic fiber in the clay body provides some flexibility to the tile, so that they can be pressed up against a flat wall surface. Available in 8 stunning colors and 2 horizontally focused sizes, Claymonde makes the perfect lightweight, square-edged tile.
