Although clean lines and contemporary styling were definitely a common design theme seen in everything from faucets, toilets and tubs to cabinets and countertops, traditional is still the most popular design style for both kitchen and bath.

Color palettes seem to be going more neutral. Popular cabinet finishes include medium to dark stained woods such as cherry and alder as well painted finishes in varying shades of white.

Granite still dominates when it comes to countertops in both the kitchen and bath, with eco-friendly quartz countertops following close behind.

The most popular flooring trend for the kitchen is hardwood although ceramic and porcelain tile are still a popular and durable choice. Hardwood has not quite made it into the bathroom where ceramic, porcelain and stone remain consumer favorites.
