Who wants to cook indoors on a beautiful summer day (or evening)? Move your kitchen outside! But don't simply drag the grill out of the garage and plop it down in your backyard.
Create an outside space to efficiently cook and entertain with ease. Use these tips to make the move to the backyard a cinch!
- Location, Location, Location - Don't make getting to the indoor kitchen a pain. Keep in mind the distance, and route, you'll need to take to carry dishes, food, and anything else you want to bring outside.
Also, don't place your cooker too close to the house - consult your local building and fire-safety codes first.
- Climate - Depending on your geographic location, make sure to choose materials that can stand up to the weather - hot or cold!
- Be realistic about those extras - Refrigerator? Blender? Rotisserie? Consider placement for all these extras, including where to put electrical outlets, before you start to build.
And think twice about that costly appliance you may not really need.
