Stone Tile

Natural stone tile is not only durable, but offers a richness and texture that complements any kitchen or bath design. Whether you're creating a classic kitchen backsplash or a contemporary shower surround, there are so many options to choose from. First is the type of stone, such as marble, granite, limestone, and slate. Within each type of stone, there's a vast array of colors, veining, and textures to choose from. Last, is the finish - for example, stone can be polished, honed, or tumbled. Along with a wide variety of sizes and shapes available, stone tile offers a plentitude of design possibilities. Try mixing and matching colors and textures, such as pairing honed tile with polished tile accents. Something to consider when selecting stone tiles is that since it is a natural material, expect some color variation from tile to tile - no two will look alike, which is part of it's beauty. Also, stone in general is very durable, but requires some maintenance, such as periodic sealing. Remember to never clean your stone tile with anything that contains bleach or acid - there are plenty of cleaning products on the market specifically made for stone, it's best to stick to those.
