Seasonal and Holiday Decorating
- Summer is the time of the year to lighten and brighten: choose paint colors and breezy fabrics in light blues, greens, and yellows, switch out heavy drapes for sheer curtains, and add freshly-cut flowers in a light vase to the kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms.
- Fall is a time for getting back to nature. Choose natural colors and materials, like fruits and vegetables (ie. pumpkins and gourds), to create displays and centerpieces, bring out the candles, and put the potpourri pot on with the scents of apples and cinnamon. It's also the time for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas decorating!
- Winter is all about the golds...and reds, and greens, and chocolates; put away any summer accents and pastels. Make the fireplace a focal point with candles and recycle those poinsettas and evergreens if they're still healthy.
- Spring brings Easter, Mother's Day, fresh bright pastels, and fresh flowers. Choose soft fabrics in delicate colors, think sheer for curtains, tablecloths, and pillows...and then get on with your spring cleaning!
