Rebates for ENERGY STAR Appliances (us_dept_of_energy_logo.jpg) As part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, states and territories are offering eligible consumers rebates to purchase new ENERGY STAR-qualified appliances when they replace their used appliances. Each state and U.S. territory was allowed to design its own rebate program (selecting its own set of ENERGY STAR-qualified products to rebate), and all have been approved by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE); the DOE recommended the following appliances:
  • Boilers
  • Central air conditioners
  • Clothes washers
  • Dishwashers
  • Freezers
  • Furnaces (oil and gas)
  • Heat pumps (air source and geothermal)
  • Refrigerators
  • Room air conditioners
  • Water heaters
