Home Cooling Systems

Having a comfortable home is really about having a home with a well-functioning heating and cooling system, as comfort from cold and heat is necessary. Having a cost-effective heating and cooling system is also important as cooling can consume 35 to 50 percent of yearly energy bills, especially in warmer climates.

A typical home cooling system consists an air conditioner or other appliance that generates cool air using electricity with common features, such as a thermostat, which controls temperature, and ductwork, which transfers the cool air to different parts of the home.

Determining which cooling system is best for your home depends on a multitude of factors, such as the climate you live in and your cooling needs. If your current cooling system isn't working as it should or isn't as energy efficient as you'd like it to be, there are options to consider, such as switching to portable units or going "green" with geothermal heat pumps, which can generate cool air as well as heat.
